Unremitting Joy – 30

By the Lake where those first calls took place, on the Lake in the boat back to doing the only thing they ever thought they would be doing.

Gathered there together were Simon Peter, Thomas called the Twin, Nathanael of Cana in Galilee, the sons of Zebedee, and two others of his disciples.  Simon Peter said to them, ‘I am going fishing.’ They said to him, ‘We will go with you.’

Out Fishing

The disciples return to the comfort of the familiar, the reassurance of something they know, something that is easy to understand, but as they are soon to discover the old things don’t come as simply as they once did.

Even before we have totally realised the influence the risen Christ can have in our lives our lives start to change.  Are we ready and prepared to accept and grow into that change, or are we ore inclined to continue on trying to do the things we have always done in the ways that are familiar and comfortable?
