Castle Stalker

Castle Stalker – in the Gaelic, Stalcaire, meaning Hunter or Falconer – sits at the mouth of Loch Laich (just north of Oban) on a rocky islet known as the Rock of the Cormorants. It is said that, in 1745, the Castle was too strong to be taken by Bonnie Prince Charlie as his 2lb cannon-balls merely bounced off the walls.

Next time I am up that way I really must get some pictures from a different angle!
