Well I had heard the hype and some of the songs, but until I watched this film I didn’t realise just what I had missed out on. If you haven’t seen it and need a lift then this might be just the ticket.
It is a feel good film with a message yet plenty of laughs. Okay so the story maybe a bit predictable but if John Travolta (Edna Turnblad) and Christopher Walken (Wilbur Turnblad) don’t make you smile at least, when they are singing ‘(You’re) Timeless To Me’ then I don’t know what will. Michelle Pfeiffer (Velma Von Tussle), Queen Latifah (Motormouth Maybelle), Amanda Bynes (Penny Pingleton) and Nikki Blonsky (Tracy Turnblad) all give wonderful performances and if you are anything like me you will still be singing long after the end credits have finished.
