Two people have recently began blogging and if you know me then you might very well know them also and want to pop along and see their blogs.
Firstly Hubby has joined the blogging world – don’t expect any Rectory secrets his blog is concerned with his hobby of making things in particular at the moment a model Sopwith Camel. http://flyingthecamel.wordpress.com/
Secondly a member of All Saints has also jumped on the blogging band wagon, or maybe that should be long ship in his case! If you are wondering what that is all about pop over and visit him and find out at http://stiffboard.wordpress.com/

With everything going on at the moment my blogging has been a sporadic I just don’t have the time, although I couldn’t resist tweaking my blog a bit.
I am hoping that once we are settled in the north blogging will return.

During Lent last year I posted a Lent Blog every day, this year I am joining with others over at
and it is where I would direct you if you are looking for some thoughts during Lent this year.
I will still have other posts on this blog but you will have to look down beneath this post or at the recent posts lists for them as this post will remain the first post on my blog until Palm Sunday.

Well I have just discovered that my brother has started a blog. He actually started it at the end of last year but has kept it very quiet up till now. If you are interested you can see it here, no doubt there will be lots of fine photographs and probably a lot of trains!
Good luck with it BB.

Is it really September already, well yes I know it is, well it is in this corner of the world, gone are the days in my youth when Summer seemed to last forever and indeed when Summer meant sun not rain and wind. During August I decided to take a break from blogging now with August having said it’s fond farewells it is time to welcome in September by getting back to blogging, the past week it has been very tempting on a couple of occassions to restart early, but I have stuck to my guns and waited till today.
I am not going to list off all the things I was up to during my blogging holiday, but I am going to ask if like me you have been enjoying the sound of ‘The Cistercian Monks of Stift Heiligenkreuz’ from their surprise hit CD ’Chant – Music for Paradise’, well have you?
When Pope Benedict XVI visited Stift Heiligenkreuz in September last year he said this
“Wherever we join in singing, praising, exalting and worshipping God, a little bit of heaven becomes present on earth.”
So here is a little bit of heaven present on earth to welcome in September.

The Church Barbecue in the rain, with several people braving the elements and choosing to stay outside in the courtyard rather than sit in the hall.
A trip to see “Mamma Mia!” didn’t think I was going to enjoy it but I did, might do a Sing Along with that in the New Year after the success of the ‘Sound of Music’.
Off to Glasgow to represent the Bishop at the 100th anniversary of the TA, ‘The PipersTrail’ production was the first part, it is off to Princess Street gardens next week, well worth seeing if you are in the area, then into the City Chambers for a reception.
Renfrewshire region visited the Diocesan Property Committee, these invitation meetings are proving a great success.
Visited an interesting gentleman from the East End of Glasgow who is now in a nursing home in EK, several members of other congregations now in East Kilbrides various nursing homes, I find this a bit strange especially as people in East Kilbride struggle to get places in them.
Sea Sunday was transferred to Sunday and we welcomed visitors from the Mission to Seafarers, did you know that piracy was still rife in International waters?
Spoke to the nice AA man as he changed the tyre I couldn’t get the wheel nuts off of, after the lorry in front of me lost something from it’s load and me with nowhere to go had to drive over it and ended up with a puncture.
Just some of the many things I have been up to in a busy couple of weeks since I came back from Silverstone and haven’t had time to blog about. Didn’t even get to see yesterdays race live, and what a race that turned out to be.
Hopefully this week will see normal blog service resume.

With the joys of Easter well and truely upon us I decided that my blog was looking a little somber, and needed a lift. The picture is currently one I took last summer, but I plan to change that once I remember to take my camera down to the church and take a picture of the lilies there.
p.s. can’t make up my mind which look I prefer, there was something about the last one that just didn’t sit comfortably with me so trying this one for a day or two now.
take three – following Lissa’s comment changed it again but it is very blue so wont stay like this either
and four – told you the blue wasn’t going to stay – no more changes for now

After trying on and off all day, without much luck, to post my contribution to Blog Action Day, it looks like this is going to be the only way to do it. Please click on the link below which will open up a power point presentation for you to view, for the full effect remember to have the sound switched on.
