Bahrain

Well yesterdays GP in Bahrain despite its initial excitement turned out to be a bit of a procession, still think that Massa should have been penalised for ignoring the yellow flag during qualifying, and would love to know just what caused Hamilton to run up the back of Alonso.  However the driver’s championship is being kept wide open this year and that can only be a good thing for F1, it is possible for anyone of 6 people to be leading the championship in three weeks time.

You make some good points - the yellow flag incident should have been looked into, certainly. As it turned out, he drivers now have a precedent to follow of using their discretion about whether to obey a flag or not.

During the race they showed Alonso from above with another car (a red Bull?) behind him at the same corner where Hamilton hit him - and the other car nearly hit him too. The Renault seems to have had a serious problem with traction there.

Not only is the drivers Championship wide open, but the Constructors too - three teams on 30, 29 and 28 points! Long time since we had anything that close.

If drivers are going to be allowed to use discretion about whether to obey a flag or not, then that is just an accident in the waiting, okay they might be also getting information from the team who can see more, but something might change before they get to the actual point of the incident. To be frank I think the car concerned was tucked well out of the way and there was no need for waved yellows.

Due to how Alonso drove during the rest of the race I tend to think he was having traction problems, he wasn’t the only one, I must have missed the overhead shot you speak of.
