Ever since the re-development was completed, well it isn’t really completed yet but everything is now were it belongs, there has been a need for a new inventory to be done, some things were got rid of and other new things were purchased, yesterday the Property Convenor and I went around the building making a list and I have just finished sorting the list out.
Making the list is the easy bit, putting values on things is far more difficult, how for example do you value a cross stitch someone made for a past anniversary of the church, or even pews, which anyone who has tried to sell off surplice will know they fetch very little but would certainly cost to replace? However, after much web searching and invoice delving it is now complete and I am happy to report the figure we get to is much the same as the one the Insurance Valuer got to when he came around to work out the new insurance values for the buildings and contents the other month. Phew!
