Rabbits

It is so difficult to get hold of rabbits for eating, yet everywhere I go these days there seems to be loads of them around.  Have people become so sentimental about their food that they would rather see rabbits eating vegetables in some field, or run them over with their car than have them on their dinner plate?  Why do I have to either travel into Glasgow or order them on-line, it seems ridiculous for something that is so plentiful.

My nephews can’t give away the rabbits they kill and always have a surplus even after the ferrets, hawk and dogs have had their fill. Butchers won’t take them if they have shot in them, and using ferrets, hawks or dogs is unhygienic or something.

Obviously not going to let your former lodger Angus read this article!

If Angus can read then he is too valuble a rabbit to be eaten! Aside from that I make it a rule never to eat guests so he is perfectly safe.

Like Alice not being able to eat the pudding after she had been introduced? I don’t think I could ever eat anything with a name.
